The value of physical fitness can never be overstated. In PE, students learn the importance of taking care of themselves through healthy eating and regular exercise. It acts as a preventative measure against future health-related issues by teaching students how and why to live a healthy and active lifestyle. PE is more than just playing games and learning different sports. It is a program that emphasizes academic learning through movement while supporting the needs of other core classes.
Students who are active in physical activities like basketball, volleyball, tennis, running, etc. are more confident with themselves. The self-discipline and dedication that it takes to be successful in sports and physical activity brings out the best in students throughout other curricular areas. PE introduces students to these sports and activities and fosters a love of movement that will take them far beyond their school years.
