About Me

My teaching career started after I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Colorado College, with the opportunity to teach English in Hungary through the Peace Corps. After that, I earned an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, and jumped whole heartedly into teaching.  I have taught 6th and 7th grades for 17 years, and love the energy, enthusiasm and community of middle school. I can't imagine teaching anywhere else!

My Classroom

This is my second year at Boltz, and I am so grateful to be a Phoenix.  In my classroom, I strive to create a community where every student feels welcome.  I believe that we are here to learn from each other, and it is the stories and connections of students that bring a classroom to life.

We strive to work collaboratively, learning to explore, analyze, and interpret early civilizations.  In 7th grade this year we will be focusing on using evidence to support our arguments and will incorporate reading and writing skills to strengthen our critical thinking.

Every voice matters.  Every student has something to contribute.  Every student is needed.

Let's work together to make this a great year!
