Student Device Policy and Procedure: Boltz Middle School 2026-2027
The main goal of these policies is to prevent the loss of technology, to set expectations of responsibility for students, and to help students achieve their best academically.
Each year students are assigned a laptop and charger which they are responsible for bringing to school. (These will be returned at the end of each school year.)
Loaners are available:
- If a student’s laptop needs to be repaired (either at Boltz or at the district)
- If they’ve forgotten their laptop (one loaner per week allowed, students may be asked to leave an asset like a phone in exchange for the loaner).
- If a laptop is lost or stolen
Please note, loaner laptops are older and slower.
If a laptop needs additional repairs at the district, it make take up to two months and students will keep the same loaner until the repaired laptop is returned.
Loaners are the responsibility of the student. They will be responsible for any damage.
Laptops need to be charged every night. Students should leave chargers at home. If they need one for multiple homes, they can be purchased at the school for $26 or anywhere electronics are sold.
