About Me

Hello, my name is Robert Collum, and I am the 7th-grade Multi-categorical teacher (Integrated Services) at Boltz. This is my 4th year at Boltz and 2nd year in my current role. In the past, I have served as the licensed in-house substitute, a paraprofessional in our center-based autism program, and an assistant coach for the Football, Wrestling, and Track teams.

I moved to Fort Collins when I was six years old and have been here ever since, going to Shepardson Elementary School, Lesher Middle School, and Poudre High School. Additionally, I earned an associate's degree from Front Range Community College and my bachelor's degree from CSU.

When not at Boltz, you will find me working towards my Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado, spending time with my wife and family, or making a giant mess in my kitchen while trying to make some extravagant meals.

My Classroom

You will most likely find me in general education classes, learning alongside and supporting the students on my caseload and in our IS department.

Vision:

The multi-categorical program is designed to meet the needs of students who qualify with any disability defined under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Purpose: To develop an educational partnership between home, school, and the community that seeks to ensure a quality education for students with disabilities to become productive, contributing members of society.

Goals:

● Serving students based on needs in a collaborative environment.

● Providing students opportunities to pursue meaningful post-school outcomes.

● Using research-based instructional strategies to support student achievement.

Students Services:

Services vary based on the individual needs of each student identified and are determined through an IEP team meeting with all required members present. Services are specially designed to meet student needs and for student progress, with accelerated growth, in academics, social, emotional, behavioral, and functional skills.
