This will be my first year at Boltz Middle school. I began teaching in Colorado in the mid-90's after graduating from Adams State in Alamosa. I moved to the Phoenix-area (where's the irony in that?!), taught general education classes in the East Valley area, met the woman who is now my wife, and was dragged off to San Antonio (she got a great job there, so no regrets). After teaching a couple years there, I went to the University of Texas at San Antonio, earned an MBA and started a tutoring business. I returned to teaching at the Autism Treatment Center and started my Masters in Special Education/Curriculum and Development in hopes to earn a BCBA Certificate. I returned to Colorado in 2016 after graduation and worked in Loveland, Milliken, Thornton, Commerce City, and now here in Fort Collins.
My wife and I have 6 children, and we love the outdoors, traveling to new places, and loving on our dog, Mocha.
In my classroom, and those where I co-teach, I see all students as general education students first. Those who need individualized attention have larger gaps in learning that I provide tools to bridge. I have children who are on the Autism spectrum, and I have great understanding that all children learn at different speeds and in different ways.
