Hello! I am part of the English Language Development (ELD) team and the Dual Language Program at Boltz Middle School. I have a bachelors’ degree in English from the Universidad Pedagogica Experimental Libertador (UPEL) in Venezuela. I also have a masters’ degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Jaen University in Spain. I will continue my doctoral studies in Education and Technology at Universidad internacional Iberoamericana (UNINI) in September this year.
I have been teaching for about 26 years, and I love it! I taught ESL/EFL and Spanish at all levels and to all ages in Venezuela. I also taught exploratory Spanish to middle school students in North Carolina. I enjoy teaching foreign languages and learning them. It makes me happy to see my kids grow as they become the leaders of their future and the world! This is my first year at Boltz! I love being part of Boltz family because it is caring and loving community. At Boltz we all matter and beyond supporting our students to achieve academic goals, we strive to support their well being in ways that their social and emotional learning enhances their academic success.
My husband and I have two grown up sons. One graduated from East Carolina University last May 2019, and the other will graduate next May from NC state. But most importantly to us , It is to know and feel that our sons are happy and kind human beings. We are proud of their personal and professional achievements. We love spending time listening to live music, reading, playing sports, chess, and skiing among other things.
We moved to Fort Collins from North Carolina about six months ago. Fort Collins is a welcoming city. We are in love with it!
It's a safe, fun, culturally diverse, and welcoming space for my kids, their parents, and Boltz family; actually to all! My classroom is your second home! Welcome! Bienvenidos!
