Boltz Updates and Reminders for 11/8/18

Coffee with the Cop – Donuts with the Dean

Monday, November 12th, 7:30 – 9:00am, Boltz Media Center

A few weeks back we invited our staff and students to spend time getting to know our School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Jeff Holpuch, and our Dean, Mr. Gabe Vigil, better. We offered free donuts and time for them to talk to break down barriers to working with them. Often their jobs at Boltz are only punitive in nature and nothing can be further from the truth. Please consider taking the time to come in and meet them on Monday, November 12th from 7:30am – 9:00am in our media center.

Pie Day

Pie Day is a long-standing tradition at Boltz.  WEB Leaders will serve the entire school a piece of pie during advisory.  This is a way for students to spend time with their advisory group sharing what they are thankful for, celebrating Thanksgiving, and is a positive way to send students off for the holiday.  Pie Day this year will be on Tuesday, November 20th.

Please sign up if you can bring a purchased pie (or 2 or 3!) to the Boltz office or help with pie cutting.

Box Tops

Thank you, families and staff, for bringing in your Box Tops!  For the fall submission we raised $72.70. Please remember we will be submitting more in February! So, send your Box Tops into the front office

PSD Day with the Rams

CSU Football is welcoming all PSD staff, students, and families to the Nov. 17 PSD Day, when the Rams take on Utah State. Tickets are $25 each, and CSU will recognize the winners of the CSU Extra Yard for Teachers Poem Contest on the field between quarters. Last year, CSU hosted more than 1,200 staff, students, and families for PSD Day, and we hope to see even larger crowds this year.  Go to  www.CSUrams.com, and use the promo code PSD to purchase tickets. There’s no dedicated PSD area at the stadium that game, so choose your own seat wherever you’d like.  To the right, you'll see an image that features more information.

8th Grade Families

Recognition ads (aka baby ads) are a wonderful way to let your student know how proud you are of his/her accomplishments. Leaving middle school and entering high school is a big deal! Send your student on his/her way with words of praise and encouragement in the yearbook. For more information on pricing and how to submit your ad, please visit www.TheYearbookCompany.com. The deadline is NEXT WEEK on November 15th. Don’t delay, as space may be limited! If you have already purchased a baby ad for your 8th grader

PSD Art Show

PDS’s annual Art show will open next Friday, November 16th at the Foothills mall.  The show will continue through January 18th.
