Hello Boltz Community,
Yesterday, Governor Jared Polis announced that all schools would be closed through April 17th. This will effectively extend our online learning at Boltz. Beginning Monday, March 23rd, students will expect to see an email from all of their teachers that have work for the week of March 23-27. For the additional 3 weeks we will be out, teachers will be preparing something more robust for student learning. Much of the planning for this time will take place during the week of the 23rd since staff is on spring break this week.
Our Boltz Calendar on the webpage has been adjusted to this closure accordingly and you can consult that for event schedules. All events happening before April 17th have been canceled. Additional events listed may be rescheduled once staff are back on duty and have a chance to look at the future calendar. I do not have information about Spring Sports timelines at this time, but will update that as soon as decisions are made at a district level.
All mandated state testing (CMAS) was canceled this week as well. We will not be taking this testing this year. Those testing dates have been removed from the calendar.
Staff will not be at Boltz during this closure time. Staff does not have access to our building during this closure. Do not come to Boltz expecting to see staff or access your locker. If you need to interact with a teacher, it should be done via email that can be found on the staff contact page. This is done to support the social isolation that is in place to prevent the spread of the virus.
The steps taken to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 have been unprecedented. The learning of our students is of paramount importance to us. We will be doing all we can to support our students and their families during this time.
Poudre School District is sending out periodic emails with information and updates. More information can also be found on their COVID-19 webpage.
