7th Grade Team

7th Grade Social Studies

At Boltz, we understand the critical nature of ensuring a successful middle school experience for all students.  During this formative three-year period, we work to equip students with both a foundational content mastery and social skills required to be successful in a comprehensive high school environment. Each grade-level team and department plays a strategic role in how we transition students throughout this experience.

The 7th grade year is really a “transition within a transition” as we build on the foundational skills acquired in 6th grade and work to prepare students for 8th grade where the focus becomes appropriately centered on high-school readiness. To that end, we prioritize the whole-child and work to strike a balance which promotes academic growth while placing an emphasis on acquiring the skills and habits necessary for success moving forward.

The 7th grade team's philosophy is grounded in promoting a growth-mindset for all. We believe intelligence is not "fixed" but can increase when paired with quality research-based instructional strategies. Students should never feel their performance level is stagnant. Instead, we teach that our brain is a muscle; one which when worked out can grow and become stronger.

To this end, we meet weekly as a team which includes teachers, administrators, counselors, RTI/MTSS specialists and other support staff to make sure we monitor student progress and design interventions and support systems to give every student the opportunity to be successful.
